Is your Emmental an imitation / artificial cheese?
All the types of cheese are solely real cheese. Our cheese is made strictly in accordance with German cheese-making regulations. For our Emmental , for example, we only use the ingredients pasteurised cow’s milk, salt, microbial rennet and lactic acid bacteria cultures.
What is analogue cheese?
Analogue cheese is an imitation cheese that actually has very little to do with real cheese. You can often find analogue cheese in the supermarket, e.g. as a pizza mix. Analogue cheese is not made from milk but from simple vegetable fat or animal fat, for example beef tallow. To make analogue cheese look more similar to “real” cheese, it has added colouring, flavour enhancers and flavouring. It does not need maturing, the ingredients are simply heated up to make artificial cheese.
